Email Interface

ASSP's Email Interface is an easy way to add addresses or remove to the Whitelist/Redlist, report spam, or false-positives.

Using the Email Interface

The Email Interface allows your users to improve the bayesian filters, whitelist, and redlist. They are special email addresses that when received, are processed by ASSP and not passed to your MTA (mail server).

To use the Email Interface it must be enabled in the configuration using the "Enable Email Interface" checkbox.

The default interface names are shown below.

assp-spam -- to report spam that got through
assp-notspam -- to report miscategorized spam

assp-white -- for WhiteList additions
assp-notwhite -- for WhiteList Removals

assp-red -- for RedList additions
assp-notred -- for RedList Removals

Example:

Assuming that your local-domain is mydomain.com,

* To add addresses to the whitelist, create a message to assp-white@mydomain.com.

You can either put the addresses in the body of the message, or as recipients of the message.

* To report spam that got through, simply forward the mail to assp-spam@mydomain.com.

It's best to forward it as an attachment, but you can just forward it normally if you must.

In a short time you will receive a confirmation if confirmations are enabled.

The process is the same to report a False Positive, but send it to assp-notspam@mydomain.com.
